"I was introduced to Joanne in 2008 when I saw some of the beautiful work she had done for a friend. Since that time, Joanne has transformed a number of spaces in our home. Our family room now has built-ins that bring a warm and inviting feel to the room. Our bedroom has been transformed from dark and dingy to light and airy with lots of pizzaz. And our living room is now a beautiful and elegant room that combines classic pieces with our existing eclectic pieces that we love. Every room that Joanne and her design associate Emily Thiffault have worked on has been transformed into something beautiful, yet comfortable at the same time. Joanne and Emily are experts in combining design and decorating knowledge. They always provide excellent advice, whether it's help selecting a simple end table, or rearranging a group of pictures on the wall. In fact, one of the most important pieces of advice Joanne gave me in terms of how to budget for our projects was the importance of investing in lighting for our home. It was the best investment we could have made. Joanne and Emily are a pleasure to work with, and have saved me hours of time and effort. They were both readily available when I needed them - whether standing in a store needing to make a decision, meeting in my home to review options, or sending photos via email for opinions. "My husband and I had been referred to Joanne at Wow Great Place by another company (who wanted to remodel but not decorate,) and she in turn put us in Kelly's capable hands, one of her designers. Our saving grace for our first major project was Kelly and Wow Great Place Design. Not only did Kelly completely redesign our kitchen, but she guided us in the right direction for all of the major decisions. As an example, we struggled finalizing the colour of our cabinets... It's an open space area, but is lacking some natural light. While I was convinced that white cabinets were the way to go, Kelly very patiently pointed out the pros of darker wood cabinets and explained how they would unite the kitchen with the adjacent dining room and living room. In the end, we were so happy that we followed Kelly's recommendations on this and other decisions! Everyone who comes over to see our new kitchen is amazed with the transformation and loves the design. What's even more important to me is how easy it is to work in the kitchen – my husband and I love to cook and there's easy maneuverability for both of us and it's even comfortable when we add in a couple of guest chefs too.
